Growing up in Washington State, I felt like Luke Skywalker on Tatooine. Dreaming of a future that seemed impossible. After several years as a screenwriter, a few produced features and dozens of director attachment revolving doors, I decided it was time to start taking the reins and direct my own stories. I wanted to have fun making a movie so I started thinking about my own insecurities and channel that into some of my favorite types of films; The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Raising Arizona, No Country For Old Men, and Blue Velvet. What started out as a short film dATE was better served as a feature. So I approached it as if it was the only film I was ever going to get to make. I poured my heart and soul into it and with a cast and crew of fantastic talents, I was able to achieve a dream. Was it hard? Hell yes. Was it rewarding? An even bigger hell yes.
