Synopsis
A hauntingly modern twist on the classic film, 20th Century Studios’ “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle” will premiere October 22, exclusively on Hulu. In the psychological thriller from director Michelle Garza Cervera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars as an upscale suburban mom who brings a new nanny (Maika Monroe) into her home, only to discover she is not the person she claims to be.
“The Hand That Rocks the Cradle,” which also stars Raúl Castillo, Martin Starr, Mileiah Vega, Riki Lindhome, and Shannon Cochran, is written by Micah Bloomberg based on a screenplay by Amanda Silver. The producers are Michael Schaefer, Mike LaRocca, and Ted Field, and the executive producers are Michael Napoliello, Maria Frisk, and Seth William Meier.

Michelle Garza Cervera (Mexico, 1987). She studied at the best film school in Mexico, Centro de Capacitacion Cinematografica specializing in Film Directing. Chevening Award (UK Government scholarship) 2017-2018 to study the MA: Directing Fiction for Film at Goldsmiths University of London. She wrote and directed several short films that have been selected in more than 60 international film festivals including Fantastic Fest, Fantasia Film Festival, Fantasporto, Havana Film Festival, Sitges Film Festival, Screamfest, SPASM, Morbido, Cinelatino Rencontres de Toulouse, within others.
Her first feature project (which she wrote along her cowriter Abia Castillo) titled Huesera was the winner of the Mexican Film Institute support for its writing in 2017 and was one of the selected projects of FOPROCINE 2019 (Mexican Film Institute fund) for its production in 2020. She is also writing along her cowriter Abia Castillo her second feature titled Palizada (Winner of the 2019 Mexican Film Institute support for its writing).
